1) ASSAULT
-On Saturday July 10th, 2010 at approximately 10:30 a.m. the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a report of an assault that occurred on the Pigeon River in the village of Omemee. An unknown male approached an angler who was fishing along the river and spoke to him about the size of fish in his possession. During the conversation the male suspect pushed the angler. Fortunately the victim was not pushed into the water and was also not injured. The unknown male then fled the area in a silver or grey coloured Sport Utility style vehicle.
The male is described as white, between 60 and 65 years of age, thin build and was wearing a light green t-shirt and brown shorts. The male was accompanied by a young boy, approximately 3 years of age, and a brown dog.
2) THEFTS
-On Tuesday afternoon (13 July) the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP were advised of the theft of a boat and motor from a seasonal property located on Grand Island on Balsam Lake. The victim reported the theft of a 16ft aluminium “Bass tracker” bass boat and 50 HP Johnson outboard motor. The boat and motor were stored on the shore at the time of the theft.
-On Tuesday evening (13 July) the OPP investigated a theft from a Snug Harbour property in the former Fenelon Township. Investigation revealed that sometime between July 10th and July 11th, someone entered a garage on the property and removed vehicle parts. Also taken from the property were two Honda motorcycles. The bikes are both described as 2006 Honda CR-80’s – red in colour.
-On Wednesday evening (14 July) the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP investigated the theft of an ATV from a Portage Road address in the former Eldon Township. Sometime overnight a 2003 Honda 400TRX was removed from the driveway of the property.
3) BREAK AND ENTERS
-On Saturday morning (10 July) the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP investigated a break and enter at the Sturgeon Point Golf Club located
on Golf Links Road in the former Fenelon Township. Investigation revealed that sometime overnight the Club House on the property was
entered and a safe containing a quantity of cash was stolen.
