is asking the public's help in solving a robbery that occurred in
the Village of Omemee on January 17th, 2009.


On Saturday evening (17 January) at approximately 8:30 p.m the OPP was called to the residence located on Hughes Street in the village of Omemee, Ontario. Investigation revealed that an unknown male suspect had forced his way into the residence and assaulted a male occupant. During the altercation the male victim also received an injury from an edged weapon. While inside the residence the suspect removed a quantity of prescription medication and a jacket. He was last seen fleeing from the scene on foot.

An immediate search of the area was conducted by the OPP K-9 Unit and the Emergency Response Unit with negative results.

The victim, age 52, was transported to Lindsay’s Ross Memorial hospital for treatment.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 183 cm tall, wearing a dark toque, a black and brown lumber style jacket and work boots. If anyone has information on this crime please call the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-705-324-6741 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
